Not only do they complete a room and add color, but they are beneficial to your health. Let’s find the right house plant for you and your home. Here are our top 10 small plants and top 10 big plants that’ll brighten up any room! 

Small Plants/Table Plants

1. Succulents

There are many types of succulents, including aloe vera. Succulents are low maintenance and stay small, perfect for shelf or tabletop decor. If you want one with a little color, we recommend Echeverias.

2. Cactus

Cactuses are great for people who haven’t developed their green thumb yet. They require very little care. If you have pets or kids, be sure to keep your cactus up high where little hands can’t grab it.

3. Air Plant

Air plants are very unique. They don’t have ordinary roots and don’t need soil to survive. They are one of the best plants for purifying the air. These are healthy, low-maintenance plants.

4. Aloe Vera

 Even though we’ve mentioned succulents, we have to give a special shoutout to our favorite succulent: aloe vera. Aloe vera is low-maintenance and has medicinal uses!

5. Snake Plant

 These plants grow tall and thin, making them perfect for tight corners. They don’t need a lot of light so they’ll be able to survive in darker rooms like bathrooms.

6. Lucky Bamboo

Lucky bamboo is a uniquely shaped plant that adds interest to a room instantly. You can plant them in water or soil.

7. Pothos

Pothos have beautiful trailing vines that can spice up a boring wall or shelf. They are great air purifiers.

8. ZZ Plant

These plants require less water than most plants (a perfect plant for a beginner). They can even tolerate low-light. They stay fairly small, perfect for desks.

9. String of Pearls

This trailing plant is not one you’ll want to pass up. This plant is perfect for shelves or hanging. Their cascading vines are absolutely gorgeous.

10. Chinese Money Plant

Also known as Pilea, this plant is very unique in its looks. Its round leaves are so cute. This small plant is perfect for desks, nightstands, and tables.

1. Rubber Tree

This vibrant plant grows both horizontally and vertically, even up to 10 ft. tall! Fortunately, you can prune it to keep it smaller.

2. Peace Lily

This flowering plant is beautiful. They require very little light. They can even survive under fluorescent lighting!

3. Cast Iron Plant

 These bad boys are tough as nails! If you aren’t great at remembering to water and fertilize your plants, this is the plant for you.

4. Dracaena Gold Star

This easy-going plant is lovely. It grows vertically, making it the perfect tight corner plant.

5. Monstera

Love jungle vibes? Bring them inside with a monstera. This plant has beautiful hole formations and trailing vines. It even tolerates low light!

6. Arcea Palm

This plant is so beautiful, you’ll think you’re dreaming. Areca palms, also known as bamboo palms, can be grown indoors, as well as outdoors.

7. Mass Cane

This thick-trunked plant is perfect for beginner plant collectors. Unfortunately, they are toxic to cats and dogs, so if you are a pet owner, avoid buying this plant.

8. Ficus Audrey

Ficus Audrey is the national tree of India and for good reason. It’s beautiful! It doesn’t do well in temperatures below 60º F. so keep it away from doors and windows in the winter.

9. Madagascar Dragon Tree

These trees are an instant conversation starter. Their twisty trunks add so much character. We especially love the varying colors in their leaves. Be sure to only water it once every 2 weeks in the winter.

10. Ficus Altissima

We wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve never heard of it, but we’ll be surprised if you don’t love it. This bush-like plant can grow upwards of 100 ft. tall in the wild! Interesting fact: rubber trees are their cousins. This plant is a little finicky and picky about its care, so be sure to do your research before buying.
