What Can WiFi Do for Appliances?

by BlvdHome

There has been a new development in appliances: the addition of WiFi. WiFi-enabled appliances have more features than you may think. Using appliances with the capability to connect to your phone makes everyday chores easier to do and more enjoyable. Let’s dive in and see what these incredible appliances can do!

Refrigerators

To interact with your appliance from anywhere, you must download the accompanying app from the manufacturer. This app activates and controls all the WiFi features. While all appliances and brands are different, we will go over what features most WiFi-enabled refrigerators have installed. Using your app, you can access these features from anywhere! You can change the temperature and get alerts when your fridge door has been open too long. To see one of our favorite WiFi refrigerators, watch this video!

Ovens

You call home and ask your partner or child to preheat the oven to 350. You get home and... the oven is stone cold. Sound familiar? Finally, you can preheat your oven from anywhere! WiFi-enabled ovens can be preheated, set timers, and turn lights on and off all directly from your phone! You can also get alerts when the timer is done so you can relax, knowing you won’t burn the meatloaf. To see more WiFi features in action, watch this video.

Dishwasher

Just by using your phone, you can start and stop your dishwasher, schedule washes, and monitor the cycle status. The reason you’d want to be able to schedule your dishwasher time is so that it doesn’t interfere with your other water uses like your warm shower or the washing machine. Watch this video to see one of our favorite smart dishwashers!

Washer and Dryer

You can use your phone to start and stop the wash and dry cycles, get alerts when the cycle is done, and both machines can even self-diagnose potential problems! It can send you reminders to start self-cleaning cycles and remind you to clean out the lint catcher.
